Actuarial Analyst – Graduate  (Retirement Consulting)

Location: London, Manchester, Ipswich and Edinburgh.

The Opportunity: 

At Buck we advise our Trustee and Sponsors on how to value, fund and manage the risk & liabilities of their pension schemes in compliance with their legal and regulatory responsibilities.

As a Graduate Actuarial Analyst, you will join an excellent multi-disciplined team providing clients with market leading, tailored solutions.  

Our Actuarial Analyst programme provides candidates with a choice of qualifications and a pathway for them to decide where they want their career to go next.

Based in one of our Retirement Practice offices in – London, Manchester, Ipswich or Edinburgh, you will work alongside colleague at different levels, from second-year Analysts to Scheme Actuaries and Senior Consultants.

What we look for in a Buck graduate:

  • Strong educational background – Honours degree (minimum 2.1), MSc or PhD in any discipline;
  • A level’s, Scottish Highers, or equivalent; including Mathematics at grade A;
  • GCSE’s, Scottish N5 or equivalent; minimum B in English language;
  • Highly analytical with the ability to understand what we do – attention to detail to understand the wider context of the work being done;
  • Learning agility – eager and quick to pick up on methodology and market trends on a steep learning curve;
  • Thriving in ambiguity– accept the unknown; persevering and adapting to serve our clients;
  • Building relationships - being a strong team player and engaging in active communication with the team and clients.

Buck will fully fund several different professional study pathways including Actuarial qualifications – FIA / CAA for all our graduates within our Retirement Practice.
